The Ultimate Goal of the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church is to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, sharing with all mankind the good news of Salvation and scriptural holiness.


The E. H. B. C. was merged with the P. B. I. on the Port Shepstone Campus following the 1968 merger of the Pilgrim Holiness and Wesleyan Methodist Churches, to form the Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College.

This Bible College became the regional training college for the entire Southern Africa Area of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, with students from the different tribal groups of South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia.

History of E.W.B.C.

Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College's history dates back to 1947 when the Pilgrim Holiness Church established Pilgrim Bible Institute at Mehlomnyama near Port Shepstone, Natal.

Holiness Bible Training Institute of the Reformed Baptist Church near Piet Retief is also part of the E.W.B.C. heritage. Mergers in the 1960s between the Pilgrim Holiness, Reformed Baptist, and Wesleyan Methodist Churches brought about the merger of these two institutions to form the Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College under the sponsorship of the newly formed Wesleyan Church. It was located on the Mehlomnyama Campus.

In 1972 the college moved to Swaziland (now Eswatini). It is currently located on a 59-hectare portion of land about 16 Kilometers south of Manzini on the Big Bens Road (MR8 Road).

In 1978 The Regional Board of Administration of the Wesleyan Church of Southern Africa made the decision to merge the Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College in Port Shepstone with the Swaziland Campus to become the training college for the entire Southern Africa Region of the Wesleyan Church.
